Browser Tab Messages
Browser Tab Messages are a subtle but effective way to regain a visitor’s attention when they navigate away from your site. This feature temporarily replaces your site’s browser tab title with a custom message — drawing the user’s eye back and increasing the chances of re-engagement.
What It Does

When enabled, this feature shows rotating messages in the browser tab if the user switches to a different tab or minimizes the window. This grabs attention and can be used to:
Remind users they left something behind
Create urgency
Reinforce a promotional message
If no custom messages are set, your default store name (as set in Shopify) will be shown in the tab as usual.
🔧 How to Use It

Enable Browser Tab Messages
Toggle this setting ON to activate the feature. Once active, your tab title will change automatically when a visitor leaves the site tab.
Browser Tab Primary Message
Example:
This is the first message displayed in the browser tab when the user becomes inactive. Use it to say hello, tease content, or simply grab attention in a friendly tone.
Emojis are supported but optional. Keep the message short and direct.
Browser Tab Secondary Message
Example:
This is the second message shown shortly after the primary one. Use it to add urgency or create curiosity — e.g., hinting at a time-limited discount, new arrival, or free shipping offer.
✅ Best Practices
Keep your messages short (under 50 characters)
Use simple language and casual tone
Add emojis if it fits your brand — but don’t overdo it
Try different combos like:
“Forgot something?” + “Cart is still here 👀”
“Still browsing?” + “🔥 Limited deal active now!”
Browser Tab Messages are a small touch — but they help bring people back. Use them wisely to re-engage visitors and reduce bounce from tab-switching distractions.
